Cleartech makes first acquisition outside Scotland – Daily Business

Cleartech Group, the Blantyre-based water treatment firm, has acquired ECB (Water Solutions), its first swoop on a business outside Scotland.

ECB is a provider of legionella control services to industrial and commercial outlets in the Greater Manchester and Lancashire regions.

Cleartech said the deal significantly strengthens its geographical reach and complements its existing services in England.

CEO Jim McGuigan retained the services of Consilium advisers John Blair and Craig Coyle.

Mr Blair said: “We’re proud to have supported Jim and the whole Cleartech Group for many years and in that time, watched the business go from strength to strength.

“This acquisition is the next step in that process, and everyone at Consilium is excited to see what the expanded Cleartech Group will achieve.”

Following the acquisition, Cleartech now supports clients from multiple locations in the UK across Scotland, the north-east of England, the north-west of England and London.
