Key listing for gin made from Old Course botanicals – Daily Business

Distiller Eden Mil, whose Golf Gin contains botanicals foraged from the Old Course in St Andrews, has secured a first UK-wide supermarket listing.

The gin is being stocked in 202 Waitrose stores.

Commenting on the news, Rennie Donaldson, chief executive at Eden Mill, said: “St Andrews is the beating heart of our brand and it’s the historical home of golf, so we’ve always wanted to authentically tie our Golf Gin product to the town.

“Foraging botanicals from the world famous Old Course has allowed us to do just that. 

“A UK-wide listing at Waitrose is the perfect launch pad for the gin. Golf participation has been increasing consistently since 2020 and is showing no signs of letting off.”

John Vine, the Waitrose spirits buyer, said the locally-sourced gin would resonate with customers.

He added: “We have an avid audience of gin enthusiasts who shop with us and take the time to discover new brands with interesting stories.”
