Murray set for new role in venture capital – Daily Business

Double Wimbledon champion Andy Murray is taking on a new role in venture capital as he consolidates his post-tennis business career.
After last week ending his six month long coaching partnership former rival Novak Djokovic, the Scot will become an associate partner at London-based Redrice Ventures.
Murray, 38, who also won the US Open, worked alongside Redrice in 2018 when he invested in Castore, the Manchester-based sportswear company. Castore created a line of performance clothing called the AMC collection, which stands for Andy Murray Castore.
Now he will be helping to identify other investment opportunities, particularly in the sports area.
His investment portfolio includes a number of small ventures through the crowdfunding platform Seedrs, as well as Game4Padel, the fast-growing short tennis game, and Cromlix, a five-star country house hotel in Scotland.

“It’s difficult to step away from a sport like tennis, which has been so all-consuming for me for so long, and then not have anything to fill that void,” he told The Sunday Times.
“I’ve seen it before with other athletes — when they haven’t had other interests straight after sport, it becomes hard for them to know who they are.
“My plan was always to spend more time on my other business interests once I’d finished playing tennis, and I’m enjoying starting to work on some of those projects now.”
