Competing at Euro 2024 helped the Scottish FA post a record turnover of £78.72 million last year.

The figure represents a significant rise of £21.6m on 2023, with pre-tax profit having also increased by £7.41m. Last year’s profits were £2.05m.

Additional funds from Grassroots Facilities Funding and the Scottish Government Extra Time initiative helped the SFA’s financial position which has allowed the organisation to pledge £5m to expanding facilities across the country.

Reserves and cash at bank and in hand were reported as £16.23m (reserves) and £18.1m (cash).

Highlighting the benefit that comes with competing in a major championship, the accounts said the rise in both revenue and profits was “mostly related to the revenue generated from participation in the UEFA Euro 2024 finals tournament”.

Scotland failed to progress to the knockout phase after losing to host nation Germany and Hungary, with just a point from their clash with Switzerland to show for their efforts.
