New management team at Castlehill Care Home – Daily Business

Castlehill Care Home in Inverness has appointed a new management team, as part of its commitment to outstanding care and the best quality of life for retired people in the Highlands.
Louise Mullen has been appointed care home manager and Mel Walker joins as deputy manager. Both Louise and Mel are qualified nurses, with extensive training in health and social care and more than 30 years’ experience between them in the care sector.
Castlehill, one of the care homes in the Morar Living Group, offers exceptional health and personal care within a luxurious residential setting.
Elaine Rankin, managing director of Morar Living, commented: “I am delighted that Louise and Mel are in place to lead Castlehill and residents will benefit from their expertise and dedication. We are expanding our care provision so we can support even more people across Scotland, while continuing to deliver the outstanding, relationship-led care that is our hallmark.”
Louise Mullen, Castlehill Care Home manager, said: “Castlehill is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care through evidence-based practice and personalised care plans.
“Our dedicated carers bring a commitment to each and every resident, enabling them to live their lives to the full and to continue to enjoy their own hobbies and interests within a supportive environment. I am immensely proud to lead Castlehill and to help care for, and learn from, our amazing residents.”
Residents at Morar Living care homes benefit from an approach which promotes wellbeing and independence, with tailored support for their everyday needs.
The extensive programme of activities and day trips includes visits to historic sites and nature reserves, fitness and dance classes, talks from visiting speakers, and tailored activities encompassing everything from cookery and chess to hairdressing and beauty, cycling, choir, gardening, history, ecology, modern languages and musical performances.
Residents regularly engage in activities to help the community, such as litter picks and fundraising for charity, while inter-generational events bring young children into the home to enjoy activities together and learn from the experience of each generation.
Morar Living has been shortlisted for Residential Elderly Care Provider of the Year (Medium Size Group) in the Health Investor Awards 2025.
The group and individual members of staff are also nominated in several categories in the Stars of Social Care Awards, the Dementia Care Awards and the Healthcare Design Awards.
