Mone and Barrowman ‘seeking fresh start in Miami’ – Daily Business

Michelle Mone and her husband Doug Barrowman are selling up properties amid speculation they are planning a new life in Florida.

The couple are to have sold or let two Glasgow townhouses to celebrity friends in the last 12 months, according to a report today.

New owners are the photographer Nick Haddow who shot some of Mone’s infamous publicity shots, and a Scottish musician.

They have also sold a Chelsea mews house linked to the company owned by Mone’s son Declan’ as well as their £19million London townhouse and their famous £6.8m Lady M yacht. Properties in Glasgow’s Park Circus are now said to have been sold or let out.

Mone’s friends have told the Mail on Sunday the couple are seeking a fresh start in Miami.

Her departure would follow a stormy few years for the couple after the controversial revelations over a PPE scandal, in which they deny any wrongdoing.

However, it has seen £75m worth of their assets frozen by the National Crime Agency (NCA) while investigators focus on PPE Medpro, a company led by Mr Barrowman, which was placed in a VIP priority lane for government contracts worth £203 million of taxpayers’ money following a recommendation by Baroness Mone.

The couple have not commented on the Miami speculation.
