MoD contract is biggest in Briggs Marine’s history – Daily Business

Briggs Marine has been awarded a contract worth £182 million with the UK Ministry of Defence, the biggest in the Fife firm’s history.
The eight-year deal forms part of the MoD’s ‘next generation of marine services’ programme involving the modernisation and standardisation of the MoD’s heavy moorings, vital to naval operations throughout the UK and overseas.
Briggs says it will secure 80 jobs and enable it to invest in its vessel fleet and industrial infrastructure.
Iain Ross, director of port and marine services at Briggs Marine, said: “Specialist marine services are an important enabler to the country’s defence capabilities and Briggs Marine is proud to support that.”
