Armstrong Watson and Martin Aitken in merger – Daily Business

Glasgow accountancy firm Martin Aitken has merged with Armstrong Watson in the latest tie-up in the sector and bringing 150 staff together in the city.
Ewen Dyer, managing director and lead partner at Martin Aitken, said: “The decision to join forces with Armstrong Watson has been carefully considered and brings significant benefits to our clients and colleagues.”
Paul Dickson, managing partner and chief executive at Armstrong Watson, commented: “The combined business allows us to better support our respective clients in Scotland.
“We have ambitious plans to continue to grow in Scotland, supporting our clients to achieve prosperity, a secure future, and peace of mind.
“We are proud to be investing in Glasgow and supporting the growth of the economy in the region with our two firms coming together.”
This merger follows a sustained period of growth for Armstrong Watson and is the third such deal for the firm in the past 12 months, with long-standing Glasgow practice Parkhill Mackie & Co joining in October and West Cumbrian firm Gibbons joining this time last year.
