MacAli Group adds village hotel to portfolio – Daily Business

MacAli Group, one of the north of Scotland’s fastest-growing hotel and accommodation brands, has added to its portfolio by acquiring the Old Mill in the historic village of Brodie, near Forres.

The company intends to give the currently closed hotel a makeover, by developing it as a country pub and events venue. Plans will be lodged to increase the number of guest rooms.

It is situated on the A96 between Inverness and Elgin and sits on the doorstep of the world’s largest concentration of Whisky distilleries, the famous Speyside Malt Whisky Trail.

MacAli Group CEO Mohammed Ali said: “I have lived in this area all my life and have fond memories from being young and knowing the Old Mill as being a pub and then seeing it move to fine dining. MacAli Group are going to bring it back to the old days of real pub food for all the family.
