Fagerson ruled out of Lions tour with calf injury – Daily Business

Zander Fagerson’s dream of representing the British and Irish Lions in Australia this summer is over after he was ruled out of the tour with injury.
The Glasgow Warriors tight-head prop has failed to recover from a calf injury and has been replaced by Ireland’s Finlay Bealham.
Fagerson has been capped more than 70 times by Scotland, touring with the Lions in South Africa in 2021 when he featured against Sigma Lions.
“It’s tough on Zander to miss out so close to the tour, but now Finlay gets an opportunity to come in and add to the group,” said Lions coach Andy Farrell.
“This is unfortunately part and parcel of the game, so we always have to be prepared for that.”
The Lions have a training camp in Portugal before taking on Argentina in Dublin on 20 June as they step up their preparations prior to jetting off Down Under.
The first of three Test matches against Australia is on 19 July.
